How Gilavar works
Gilavar finds flights from Baku and shows what the trip really costs. This page explains how we earn, where the prices come from and what happens to your data.
How Gilavar earns
- Our markup
- 0%
- Who takes your payment
- The airline or agency
- Who pays us
- Aviasales, from its own fee
Gilavar adds no markup. You pay exactly the price the airline or agency charges.
When you buy a ticket through our link, Aviasales pays Gilavar a small share of the fee it gets from the seller: about 1% of the ticket price on average, and it can be nothing on some low-cost airlines. It costs you nothing.
Airalo (eSIM) and EKTA (travel insurance) work the same way: they pay us a commission, and we add nothing to their prices.
This is why prices on Gilavar are the same as on aviasales.az.

Where the prices come from
Gilavar's prices come from the Aviasales cache: prices that travellers found in recent searches on Aviasales. They are 0 to 7 days old, and every price shows its age.
In that time a seat can sell out or change price, so the seller may show a different price. For prices from sellers right now, open Live prices.

Buying safely
- Gilavar never sells tickets and never asks you for payment.
- Gilavar never contacts you on WhatsApp or Instagram to sell anything.
- You always pay on the seller's own checkout: the airline's or agency's site.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) have warned about ticket scams on social media. Both ask travellers to buy only through their official channels.
Our official Telegram bot is @GilavarAzBot. It never asks for payment.
Our official Telegram channel is @gilavar_az.

Your data
The site has no accounts. The only cookie Gilavar sets remembers your language. Partner sites and the live prices widget follow their own privacy policies.
A trip you plan lives in its link and in your browser. Gilavar doesn't store it.
Vercel Web Analytics counts visits without cookies: it recognises a visitor by a hash of the request, which resets every day.
The Telegram bot stores only your Telegram user ID, your language, your price alerts and when you agreed to this. They are kept in a Postgres database in Frankfurt, in the EU, so outside Azerbaijan.
Send /delete to the bot to erase all of it. Blocking the bot erases it too.

How we estimate bag costs
Aviasales' cached prices don't say whether a checked bag is included. So Gilavar adds the typical online price of one 20–23 kg bag on that airline: twice for a round trip, and on each ticket of a self-transfer.
“Usually included” means the airline's cheapest fare usually includes a bag.
It is an estimate. Always check the bag allowance on the seller's page before you pay.

Questions
- Does Gilavar add a markup?
- No. You pay exactly the airline's or agency's price. Aviasales pays us a small share of its own fee, at no cost to you.
- Why is the price the same as on Aviasales?
- Because it is Aviasales' price. Gilavar shows prices from Aviasales and sends you to the same airlines and agencies.
- Why can the price change when I click Buy?
- Our prices are 0 to 7 days old. When you click Buy, the seller shows today's price: a cheap seat may have sold out, or the fare may have changed.
- Does Gilavar sell tickets?
- No. You buy and pay on the airline's or agency's site. Gilavar never asks you for payment, in messages or anywhere else.
- Is the bag price exact?
- No, it is an estimate: the typical online price of one checked bag on that airline. The seller's page shows the real price for your fare.
- How do I stop alerts or delete my data?
- Send /delete to the Telegram bot: it erases your alerts and everything the bot stored about you. Blocking the bot does the same. The site itself has no accounts.
